The Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest in the country and situated a short walk from the city centre. The hot-houses and gardens are home to over 6000 species of plants and are surrounded by Oxford’s Historic beauty. Whether you are a plant-enthusiast or just want somewhere peaceful to sit or picnic, the gardens are a perfect haven. Also, as any Phillip Pullman fans will know, the Botanic Gardens are also the home of Lyra’s bench. Our Cafe is situated nearby, so why not call in for something delicious to make up a picnic?
Is there a better way to spend a lazy afternoon in Oxford than Punting? The Magdalene Bridge boat house is close to our cafe so why not pop in before or after (or get something delicious to take with you). The boat house is open 7 days a week from the 1st of February (weather permitting) to the 30th of November, between 9.30am – 9.00pm (or 1 hour before sunset).
